Don’t worry about what you can’t control. Our focus and energy needs to be on the things we CAN control. Attitude, effort, focus- these are the things we can control.
Tim Tebow
This is my blog for all things teaching as I begin my teaching career and learn about who I am as a teacher.
As you’ll see in this blog, my name is Emily Meers. I am originally from Langley, BC and am grateful to have grown up on, and still live on, the unceded traditional territories of the Matsqui, Kwantlen, Katzie, and Semiahmoo First Nations. A lot of my family and close friends still live in that area and I am very excited to one day start my career in the Lower Mainland.
As I start my journey as a teacher, I am constantly trying new things, making new discoveries, and having different things happen, and in this blog you will be able to see lots of that. Teaching isn’t something that is straightforward or easy peasy (most days) and I try to show some of that in my writing. If you’re looking for something weird happening in a classroom, look at my Post Practicum Two Reflection.
This has certainly not been the easiest journey so far for me, but I am really excited for the future and to see what comes next.
